Kathy Lee has taught science 34 years in Tennessee schools. She has taught High School Advanced Placement Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, Honors Chemistry and Middle School 5th, 6th and 7th grade Science. Science is her passion. Her vacations include sites of scientific interest such as dinosaur digs, fossils hunts, volcanoes, searching for Endangered Bird Species, swimming with manatees, solar eclipses, and cave research. She and her two Shetland Sheepdogs do herding and agility when not catching frisbees or squirrels.

Brenda Royal is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, having received her Bachelor of Science with a double major in chemistry and biology. She received her M.S. in Biology, and she acquired her Ed. S. in curriculum and instruction. She is certified in all areas of science, and has taught Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Physics, AP Chemistry and AP Biology. She currently teaches AP Biology and Anatomy & Physiology at Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School, in Nashville. She is also a curriculum consultant for the Vanderbilt Center for Science Outreach, and she is a reader for the AP Biology exam, as well as an AP Consultant. She is a former finalist for Tennessee Teacher of the Year and was a 2005 Finalist for Metro Teacher of the Year. She has two teenage daughters, Julie & Emily.
